Story:

Set on backdrop of US, Balu(Varun) comes home discontinuing his course at college and chance upon his neighbor girl Swapna(Anita).
It is love at first sight for both but trouble is with Balu's father (Prathap) and Swapma's mother, Anerica Durga (Urvasi), Anyhow, both of them come to a formal agreement in front of their pparents that they will not see. talk, meet each other for the full year to prove their love.

What happen int hat year, whether they are succeesful in their love test or not form the rest of the story.

Performances:

Varun Sandesh is energetic as usual and fits the bill of desi US lad. However, he must put on some flesh to get that manly look and that will help him for the future.
He must also control his body language during emotional scenes to shoe maturity.

Anita is sweet looking and has a natural sex appeal in her. She has the potential to grow but she has to chance her dubbing artist. Performance and glamour is proportionate to her in this movie but her character was not etched out stronly.

Shraddha Das has a meaty role and she has shown the actress inside her unlike the regular sex doll image. She look elegent and level headed.

Adarsh is an apt choice for a negative role, he has the right kind of attitude for such roles. One can see more of him in the coming days.

Prathap Pothan was standard, Urvashi did her bit as required but something is not right about her dubbing artist, Thalaivasal Vijay was not used to the fullest, Kota was as usual, Venu was brief, the lady doing Varun's mother's role was neat and timing was good.

Highlights:
Cinematography
Music (although 'Ye Teega Poovuno..' and 'Bhale Bhale Magaadivoy' are inferior to original tracks)
Heroine (Credit goes to make up, costume and camera department)

Disappointments:

Mishandling second half
Screenply hiccups in maintaining emotion graph
Dubbing given to heroine and Urvasi

Analysis:

The movie fails to bring in the emotional depth that is required. The audiences get connected to the scenic beauty on screen and the quality presentation but not to the spirit to content.

Certainly, this movie is not for masses. The youth audiences try to connect to some extent but the last few minutes make them laugh at the emotion that is depicted instead of shedding tears. Here are a few scenes those make audience crack jokes and get digressed from the narration.

Hero and Heroine recognize each other with heart beat. the scene can be used for perfume Ad but not so fitting here.

Heroine's father starts giving speech when he sees her daughter jumping into Niagara along with her boy friend, After the speech, he starts weeping...(Audiences laughed at this scene conception).

On a whole, the first half of the movie sounds normal and second half suffers with many ups and downs in graph.

Varudu Movie Review

Movie Name: Varudu
Rating: 2.0/5
Casting: Allu Arjun, Bhanu Mehra, Arya, Suhasini, Naresh, Asish Vidyarthi, Nazar etc
Music: Mani Sharma
Director: Gunasekhar

Story:
Sandeep(Allu Arjun) alias Sandy is a cool going guy who has lot of respect for both love and arranged marriage. He gets a job in US and his parents(Suhasini, Asish Vidyarthi) wants sandy to get married before leaving to states. Sandy tells their parents that he doesn't have any girl friend and asks his parents to search a beautiful girl for him. He further decides not to see the photograph of the girl to whom he is getting married before marriage. In the marriage both see each other and falls in love at first sight but suddenly a twist comes. What is the Twist? What happened to the Bride? Did the lead pair get married or not forms the crux of the story.

Performance:
Allu Arjun is good as usual in sentimental scenes and dances however he needs to improve his dialogue delivery a lot. The dialogue 'Magatanam unte' lacks the required punch due to the bad dialogue delivery of Allu Arjun.

Heroine Bhanu Mehra whose face was hidden by Gunasekhar until the movie release is not that beautiful. She is just OK. Earlier she did a small role in Bollywood movie Bachna Ae Haseeno.

Tamil actor Arya did role of villian in this movie. His characterization was well written and audience felt that his role even dominated the role of hero during second half.

Others did their part well.

Highlights:
Aidu Rojula Pelli Ammanti Pelli Song Picturisation.
Dialogues by Thota Prasad regarding love and marriage.
Revealing the face of heroine at the right time.
Villain's characterization.
Lip Lock scene between the lead pair and following dialogues.
Climax Fight.
Background Score.
Bunny's dance.
Sidelights:
Dragged 2nd half.
Poor Script.
Music.
Heroine.
Lack of comedy.
Final Verdict:
The first half of the movie is good which tells about the Five day marriage in olden days. Second half is uninteresting and unappealing. Audience felt bored in the second half with no twists and interesting sub plots. Even some shouted in the movie during second half, "Tondaraga heroine ni pelli chesuko memu intiki veltam". Gunasekhar failed in direction department. The movie is just better than Sainikudu. Allu Arjun is the only saving grace of the movie.

Bottom Line:
Watch it for just time pass. Don't expect more.

Hollywood Actress for Telugu Film,Karma

For the first time in the history of Telugu cinema, an American actress is acting in the lead role of a Telugu film.

In adivi Sesh's supernatural thriller, 'Karma', Hollywood actress Jade Tailor is playing the role of 'Padma', a Telugu-American girl, the female protagonist of the film.Padma's character is that of a pure soul, a girl whose heart knows little of the supernatural evil in her town.Padma's life takes a massive jolt as she becomes witness to the growing evil surronding her, before she herself gets trapped in it.

It is important to note that Jade's involvement in the project is not simply that of an item song, or in the glamorized role of a foreign girlfriends. In fact, Jade was so dedicated to the project that she arrived three months before the commencement of shooting, so that she could learn enerry cultural aspect and emotional nuance of her character. In those three months, she spent ten week near the Adivi family and other indians, as she tried to understand Teugu culture to help her role in the fil. Additionaly, she worked hard to get5 all the emotional subtleties correctly, so she could do justice to the script. It is inspiring to see this effort made by a non-telugu actree, especially in an ers when actress have been relegated to the backseat in many films.
